Pat Langan

Gina Linehan

Pat Langan has been married to her wonderfully supportive husband Owen for 40 years. Both worked on the sidelines of charity locally in the UK but decided that the bigger organisations were not their way as so much of the funding went into administration. After a visit to Sri Lanka in the mid 70s it was decided to help on a one to one basis supporting several families and helping them get on their feet.

A similar visit to Bombay staying a luxury hotels and watching slum dwellers searching for scraps created a guilt that has still to be appeased. Over the years, food and clothing was collected in bulk, cleaned and sorted and delivered to various orphanages in India especially in Tindivanum, Tamil Nadu - a place run and directed through a friend.

By default Cherie and Pat met in 1983 and have remained friends ever since. Pat & Owen and various family members escorted children to the US and other parts of Europe, including their own son Kieran - one of IMH's wonderful abandoned babies, now a 25 year old. Currently living and working in Kerala India, Pat is proud to be part of the Cherie Clark Foundation and continue the work of helping those less fortunate to lead a better life.
